Corone dentali

Una corona dentale è un tipo di guscio che copre l’intero dente di un paziente. La corona è realizzata in porcellana, metallo o una combinazione di entrambe ed è fissata al dente all’interno della bocca del paziente.

Quando è necessaria una corona?

Le corone vengono applicate quando i denti non possono essere trattati con restauri normali come le otturazioni dentali. Le corone sono spesso utilizzate quando il dente è compromesso da un trattamento canalare o ha subito un intervento più ampio, come per riparare denti rotti, denti cariati e danneggiati. Le corone vengono applicate anche per migliorare l’aspetto dei denti del paziente.

Cosa significa applicare una corona?

Durante l’inserimento di una corona, il vecchio dente del paziente deve essere forato per garantire che la corona sia fissata saldamente.
