L’implant est une structure en titane en forme de vis fixée à la mâchoire pour remplacer les dents manquantes. Les implants en titane sont utilisés car ils adhèrent bien à la mâchoire en titane et offrent le plus haut degré de résistance. Les implants sont une procédure très demandée car ils sont la seule solution permanente pour remplacer les dents manquantes.

Les patients avec des dents manquantes peuvent éprouver des problèmes tels qu’une incapacité à mâcher et des troubles de la parole. Cela peut également entraîner une perte osseuse à l’endroit vide où la dent est manquante. Puisqu’une tomodensitométrie à faisceau conique est réalisée avant chaque procédure, la perte osseuse sera vérifiée et si c’est le cas, une greffe osseuse sera nécessaire avant de recevoir des implants.

Les patients dont les gencives, les mâchoires et les os peuvent supporter des implants bénéficieront de la procédure, mais les patients qui ont reçu une radiothérapie dans la zone de la tête/du cou ne peuvent pas bénéficier de cette procédure.

Les implants sont-ils risqués ?

As with any treatment, there are some small risks involved such as mis-angling, mis-positioning, nerve injury, bleeding during the procedure, hole formation in the bone in the implant area, and bone loss in the lower jaw. However, as we work with the best dentists these risks are significantly reduced and we have a very high success rate. After getting implants it is important for patients to maintain good dental hygiene and clean around the implant regularly to avoid any infections.
