Implantes dentales

El implante es una estructura de titanio en forma de tornillo asegurada a la mandíbula para reemplazar los dientes faltantes. Se utilizan implantes de titanio porque el titanio se adhiere bien a la mandíbula y proporciona la máxima resistencia. Los implantes son un procedimiento de alta demanda, ya que es la única solución permanente para reemplazar los dientes faltantes.

Los pacientes a los que les faltan dientes pueden experimentar problemas como deficiencia en la masticación y alteraciones del habla. También puede causar pérdida ósea en el lugar vacío donde falta el diente. Como se toma una tomografía computarizada de haz cónico antes de cada procedimiento, se verificará la pérdida ósea y, si existe alguna pérdida ósea, se requerirá un injerto óseo antes de colocar los implantes.

¿A quién se le puede aplicar el tratamiento con implantes?

Los pacientes con encías, mandíbula y huesos sanos que puedan soportar los implantes se beneficiarán del procedimiento, pero los pacientes que hayan recibido radioterapia en el área de la cabeza y el cuello no podrán beneficiarse de este procedimiento.

¿Son riesgosos los implantes?

Al igual que con cualquier tratamiento, existen algunos pequeños riesgos involucrados, como desviación, mala posición, lesión nerviosa, sangrado durante el procedimiento, formación de orificios en el hueso en el área del implante y pérdida de hueso en la mandíbula inferior. Sin embargo, como trabajamos con los mejores dentistas, estos riesgos se reducen significativamente y tenemos una tasa de éxito muy alta. Después de recibir los implantes, es importante que los pacientes mantengan una buena higiene dental y limpien los alrededores del implante con regularidad para evitar infecciones
