Eine Zahnkrone ist eine Art Kappe, die den gesamten Zahn eines Patienten bedeckt. Die Krone besteht aus Porzellan, Metall oder einer Kombination aus Porzellan und Metall und ist im Mund des Patienten am Zahn befestigt.

Wann wird eine Krone angewendet?

Kronen werden angewendet, wenn sie nicht mit normalen Restaurationen wie Zahnfüllungen behandelt werden können. Kronen werden häufig verwendet, wenn der Zahn durch Wurzelkanalbehandlung beeinträchtigt oder einer größeren Restauration unterzogen wurde, z. B. um gebrochene Zähne, verfallene und beschädigte Zähne zu reparieren. Kronen werden auch angewendet, um das Aussehen des Patienten zu verbessern.

Was beinhaltet das Tragen einer Krone?

Beim Aufsetzen einer Krone muss der alte Zahn des Patienten in Form eines kleinen Stiftes vorbereitet werden, damit die Krone sicher befestigt werden kann.

Nachdem eine Zahnform des Patienten entnommen wurde, wird sie zur Vorbereitung an das Labor geschickt, und die Form und Größe jeder Krone wird auf die Bedürfnisse des Patienten angepasst. Auf diese Weise wird eine Krone erhalten, die wie echte Zähne aussieht und perfekt passt.
